The visit to the North East was a great experience.  It was part advocacy for transforming culture and economy but also a lot of seeing friends, making wonderful new friends and awesome sight seeing.

This gallery is a show and tell of the trip.  It does not go into great detail but it does describe the high lights of a remarkable trip. Thanks to everyone who helped make this such a memorable adventure!

Brief overview - The entire travel focused on making a number of both public and not public presentations titled "Transforming Where We Live - Our Homes, Culture and Economy."  Student friends at Green Mountain College - Krista, Jensen, Connor - made arrangements for me to stay several days to visit classes and make two presentations.  The visit to GMC was the original purpose of the trip and I decided to see about arranging additional visits to universities and civic groups.

Thanks to the internet and social media, I connected with several people for making additional presentations.  I knew Scott at Long Island University from before.  I met Joshua at Yale along with Alyssa, Amber and Bianca at the University of Rhode Island via the internet.  In Boston, I met Sarah and Allison by way of internet social meet up groups.  I e mailed a professor at MIT about my coming to Boston and she passed that on to Mia, a grad student  whom I made arrangements with.  Another friend called my attention to the SAGE Conference in Worcester, Mass, which I attended and made a presentation.  These all worked out well.  Some of the presentations were for university classes - landscape architecture, urban planning, material flows, utopias, organic farming  and images of Nature.  Two presentations in Boston were open to the public.  Thanks much for everyone helping out!   Here is a link to the tour schedule.

I also borrowed bikes when possible and that was great for exploring parts of NY City and Boston. I also spent a good deal of time with friend Farrin in NY City as well as friends Jena and Arun also in New York City.  A visit also to Cape Cod to see a friend not seen for 35 years. Captions with each foto will explain more.  The entire trip is covered with several galleries.  You can link to them via the North East tab above or from each gallery page.  Here is the first set of fotos made in New York City.
