These are paintings I have made over the years. Some are frame size, some are wall size.
In college, I never thought much about art. My major was Geography and art was not even a thought. That changed during a nearly 4 year trip to Europe and Africa. In unlikely Umdloti [pronounced umshloty] Beach, South Africa, I discovered an interest in drawing. I had the occasion to read Betty Edward's Drawing On The Right Side of the Brain. An entire unknown realm of unknown was discovered. Somewhat later, I found I could paint on the right hand side of the brain.
My first paintings were in Italy. My style always tended towards the realistic. One summer in 2000, I bought a bike in Italy and combined travel by bike with painting for awesome places to stay - Praiano a Mare, Amalfi Coast; Avola, Sicilia; Cala Gonone, Sardegna. Some of the best times in my life. My favorite subjects are Italian themes, architecture, landscapes, nature and trains. Many of the paintings are from fotos I have taken. Some paintings are made up. I have painted on many large walls outdoors. It was great fun being up on a scaffold.
I can make painting from fotos, both framed size but also larger on a material called cambric cloth. Cambric cloth is a cousin of canvas but does not need to be stretched. Its something like wall paper. The cambric cloth can be mounted on board and framed. Larger paintings can be stapled to the wall and framed in with molding or not framed in at all. I use artist quality acrylic paint. Finished paintings can be delivered in person or sent in a tube. I can also make lifesized animal paintings on cambric cloth that can be fixed to a wall simply with double sided tape.
