Here is a new graphic. Its really simple but contains a lot of information. It puts into visible and simple form, many of the elements needed and already in use, for replacing the current economic system and the consumer culture it has created. Its a work in progress. What would you add to the graphic? How could it be made better? Feel free to comment.
The example below is a great project - transforming a residential block. Repurposing the Block. Imagine the different organizations and groups that could help, check the graphic to see what assets, tools and allies could help,,, think of all the smaller projects that add up to a transformed block - homes, street, yards, driveways, garages, alleys, edible landscpapes, solar, depave, place making, fences down,,,, on and on. Think about the work parties and all the participants and think about the benefits - social, ecological, economic, positive culture, uplift and much more.
Perhaps the most important benefit is to inspire and empower others. People who participate can carry these ideas into their homes [depave, edible landscapes, create beauty, etc] and neighborhoods, places where they work, other social organizations they are involved with like PTA, Sierra Club and so on.
Groups are great to start with, they all have some kind of existing cohesion and most groups exist to benefit public well being in some way or another. One big team for big transformations. Just what we need!
The more green and resilient culture and economy brought into being, the more momentum is created. This is a very desirable feedback loop.
