Arrange a Presentation
Presentations can be made for universities, conferences, meetings and various occasions.
1] From a distance over the internet
2] In person - ideally with multiple presentations over several days, see below
Internet
Teleconferencing using skype, various teleconference services, telephone. What is needed at your end is an internet connection, perhaps a speaker phone and the usual AV. If you have a preferred teleconferencing set up, that is probably fine.
In Person
In person presentations are most effective. Of course, travel costs money and carbon and is time consuming. An in person arrangement can be made more practical with multiple presentations. This past November, I visited Green Mountain College in Vermont for 4 days. During that time, I made 2 presentations open to students and faculty and I made 3 presentations to specific classes. I met informally with many more faculty and students. The visit to Green Mountain could have included several more class visits. GMC treated me well.
Multi Day
Multi day visits can make the travel and expense worthwhile. Especially when combined with presentations at other locations. During my November stay to Green Mountain College, I also made presentations at Long Island University Post, Yale, The University of Rhode Island, MIT, two public presentations in Boston and a conference in Worcester. Multiple presentations can mitigate the costs. If faculty or students at University X worked with faculty or students at Y and Z to share the costs, that can make the the entire effort higher value and less cost for everyone. For example, I could see staying in Boston for two weeks and making presentations and class visits just in Boston. Typically, the school or entity hosting for more than one day provides meals and lodging.
