Here is a graphic of harvest seasons for fruit and veggies at my place.  Eugene is in plant hardiness zone 8b.  Winter temp averages are mid 30's to upper 40's and its cloudy and wet much of the time.  Summer months average, low 50's to low 80's with very little rain for June, July, August, into September.  This is a Mediterranean Climate. Note, lemons need to be covered about 12 nights during the winter when temps are below 28.  The green house allows earlier than outside harvest of lettuce, broccoli, bush beans, tomatoes, cukes, cabbage.  Some veggies are live stored in the soil during the winter - leeks, beets, carrots.
