Ideas for a Mini EcoVillage,,,,
I have a very interesting place in river road. Its a ten year old permaculture project on an average 1/4 acre.
The idea is to take care of a what needs I can from the sun, soil, water and creativity of the place. Its been good.
For ten years, I have been renting rooms and that has been fine. My interests are now more in the direction of greater cooperation and even potential for co ownership [that would take a lot of work and convergence of all kinds of concerns,,,,,,,,,].
Times are changing, the economy, environment, resources, and much more. Living with people on the same wave length will become increasingly important as the resource intensive way of life we are familiar with declines. Besides, there are far more fun ways to live, anyway.
So I am interested to meet people who have similar interests. Its a good time to explore creative and healthy ideas for meeting the changes already coming into focus. Doing that with friends will be a smart choice.
The place is a 1955 suburban house. With the car port converted, 9 years ago, its a three bedroom house. I live in a very nice detatched bungalow on site.
The ideal housemate/Eco Villager would be vegetarian and non smoking, a strong organic/planet friendly/social positive kind of ethic. Car free very good, very good physical condition, skills related to living closer to home - permaculture, communications skills - perhaps by training, food preservation, natural healing, food production [there may be nearby sites to work on] some medical knowledge, human scale technology,,,,,,,etc. Not to suggest all these skills are expected, but they are good to have along with a keen interest in learning about living more people and planet friendly.
Also, tidy, repsectful, positive attitude and sense of humor. Good stories, confident, curious and interested in these changing times and making good use of them.
The house also has washer dryer, a great 350 ft sq sun room for passive solar heating, nice Lope fire place insert for cold winter days. The place has extensive edible landscaping, brambles, fruit trees, just beginning food forest, solar hot water. As potential eco villagers live here, arrangements can evolve and perhaps converge over time if agreeable to those involved. Its an adventure, new for me, too.
Also, there are several other properties within a ten minute walk that have similar interests to become mini eco villages. Would be great for there to be a mini eco village network scene out here, with friends and kindred spirits living nearby.Another house may start looking for eco villagers on Craig's List soon. There are 7 permaculture properties at various stages of development within a ten minute walk.
OK, thats enough. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me.
