room for rent.

For rent is a sunny 13 x 13 foot southeast corner of the house bedroom.
It has windows to the south [backyard] and east [neighbor] bamboo, fence and
1600 gallon rain water tank out the east window. The room for rent has a door
to the very nice 350 ft. sq. sunroom. See fotos below.
The room has a double sliding door closet with shelf above. Also, access to
another closet in the hallway. It is unfurnished.
Rent is $360 per month. $100 Deposit. To move in, please have first
and last month rent and deposit. We split utilities. [maxes out at less
than $50 each in January, $15 + - summer time]
The room has nice hardwood floors, phone jack [we have separate phone lines,
each housemate's own responsibility. House can accomodate 3 land lines. If you
have a cell phone and don't need a land line, perfect. Heat is electric, space
heaters. The house is cool in the winter, we keep bedrooms comfy. Fire part
time.
Please be tidy, responsible, organic inclined, vegetarian, sociable.
Place stays pretty quiet, friends are welcome to come over. Not a place
for illegal drugs. If you do illegal drugs, smoke anything , please save us
both time and energy and look for another place. Occasionl beer or wine, fine.

the place is very casual, most of the time on cruise control, but there are
several important items
1] the house is vegetarian, it is not vegan but is veggie. mostly organic.
not a place for meat. housemates are all vegetarian. If you eat meat, please
save us both some time and look for another place. Thanks.
2] house is not a place for illegal drugs or people who use them. Please don't
call. Thanks.
3] place is not good for dogs, prefer no more cats. not a good place for kids.

otherwise, its a very easy going place,,,,,
I would consider a couple. That can be discussed.
Please be without dog or cat. There are two cats in residence. Both friendly.
Also, four hens.
We share the kitchen. Certainly the possibility for shared meals- that
would be nice! Share the bathroom. We share modest house chores like compost,
recycle, bathroom, kitchen.
There is a bus stop 3 blocks away at Horn and River Road. The River Bike
Path, 4 blocks away, is a beautiful ride into town, about 15 minutes. University
of Oregon is car free bike path nearly the entire way, 25 minutes. A car free
housemate is a big plus! River Road area features a recreation center with an
indoor pool, weight room, sauna, playground a ten minute bike ride a way.
Current residents, three guys- 28, 56, 61. All into healthy living, ride bikes,
vegetarian. A big plus for a housemate would be car free.
Good stories and communication skills are a plus!
The house is mid fifties suburban. Three bedrooms, one bath. Hardwood
floors, nice sized kitchen, living room. Decor is simple. Owner lives
in a detatched passive solar bungalow on the property. Street is pretty quiet,
residential. Neighbors- nice family on one side, other side aging hippies who
turned part of thier drive way and front yard into a garden,,,,
Highlights of the house include lots of practical landscaping [i am into permaculture],
two water features, two decks, solar water heater, lots of windows, sun room,
washer dryer, clothesline, nice wood burning fireplace insert. 3500 gallon rainwater
storage, gardens. passive solar heat assist on sunny days. Space can be made
for a housemate garden.
The place stays tidy and is intended to be a pleasant and healthy home.
