There will be candidates for Mayor, Eugene City Council (Ward 7), and County Commissioner (North Eugene). The format will allow questions to be asked of the candidates. For more info about the Forum, call Rob Handy 689 6372.

Much of River Road is not in the City of Eugene. Still, we are very much affected by what happens with City of Eugene elections and decisions. Eugene elections deserve our attention, please join us at the Forum. County residents can still work on behalf of City candidates.

We now have a name!! the River Road Neighbors Network. Soon there will be a website RRNeighbors.net

April 6, Tuesday, 7 PM Garden Group Meets [The Garden Committee will meet the first Tuesday of the month]

Where; 317 Howard Ave, at the Home of Wendy and Pat Gardner

April 17 potluck at Ellen and Gary's

Where; 1025 Elkay Drive: About half a mile west of River Road on the north side of Elkay
Arriving to the house, on the right you'll see a great big wooden fence with big white wrought-iron gates. Parallel park along the fence outside the gates in the grassy areas or elsewhere along the street. There may be additional spaces inside the gates. Please don't park in the driveway or block the gates. The gates will be closed (I have a dog) but not locked. Come in and come to the green house with the balcony, up the brick steps. [ride a bike if you can-jan]

What; Monthly Social and potluck Ellen- "I have a hot tub so if you want to use it, bring a towel; slippers and robes are nice too. There will also be ping pong and other games.

April 18 Sunday, First garden work party at Margaret and Arden's house. Lots to do! Bring gloves. This will also be a time to make plans for how to organize work parties. One large group, pods? Please fill out the new Garden Survey. The survey provides choices of activities and place for suggestions about garden projects and community service.

April 18 Sunday, Shape Note Singing 4-6 PM

The next Sunday afternoon singing will take place at Martha's house the Sunday after Easter. Particulars below. Please invite new folks, we had a grand turnout at Tom's. More singers means more sound, more power, and MORE FUN!

No-pressure potluck meal to follow.That means if you have time and inclination to cook something yummy,that's great !
(like Jim's fabulous meatloaf, hint hint). Too busy to cook? Come along with your voice anyhow, sing and eat with us.

June 19, Saturday Dharmalaya. [date changed from June 5] A day of workshops, presentations, discussion explaining and exploring the idea and wisdom of a Bio Regional [Southern Willamette Valley] economy and culture. call 344 0553 or 686 6761. Update April 5;

Tentative Schedule, 10 AM Welcome Circle 10:30 Workshops; 12:30 Lunch; 2 PM Workshops; 4 Pm Plenary Session; 6:30; Potluck/social

Panels and presentations will include Conciousnes for a New Culture, Eco Cities Slide Show and Discusion, Neighborhoods and Local Culture, Appropriate Technology/Property Conversion, Local Food Security, Local/Human Scale Economics. The gathering is a project of the Eugene Permaculture Guild

June 20, Land Use Bike Tour [date changed from June 6]

Where/when; Meet at 12 Noon [goes to 3] at Olive and 10th Street Downtown [NE corner of the Public Library]

What; We will visit a variety of locations that illustrate smart[er] land use. Downtown infill and density, Eco Village, residential co-op, community gardens, home permaculture. Ride will go 'till 3 PM. Easy sociable pace. Purpose, to see what is smart land use and what individuals and cooperative efforts can accomplish for improved land use. July Social/Potluck will be at Arden and Margaret's. Beautiful location at the end of E Hilliard at the bike path with view of the river. Stay tuned for details.
