This is a jam of permaculture information. Brief overviews of a variety of home conversion elements. You will know a lot more how to go about converting your property. Those present will be invited to share what they know about the different facets of property conversion as well. Feel free to invite others.

Time: Meet, mix/mingle starting at Noon. Jam Begins at 12:30 goes to 4 PM

Global Trends - Local Choices For Eco Logical Culture Change

What are the connections between everyday lifestyles and unprecedented global trends? How will climate change, peak oil, increasing economic instability and a host of other compelling trends affect you and your community? This three part series will connect the dots and provide you with new perspectives and tools for making smart choices in a rapidly changing world. Expect to hear a variety of perspectives and strategies out of the mainstream.

Part One - Thursday, Sept.4, 7 PM - Global Trends, Economics and Suburbia

We will start out with an over view of peak oil, climate change, food trends, water and various characteristics of global capitalism. How are our own lifestyles connected to these trends? Where did suburbia come from and why all these cars? What are "external costs"? Is it realy "non negotiable?" Nature bats last. Over view of the following two presentations.

Part Two - Thursday, Sept. 18, 7 PM - Groundwork for Eco Logical Culture Change

First a look at some headlines in the news.

Part two will begin with a review of global trends. Then, with global trends in mind, you will become acquainted with a different set of ideals, values and goals as a basis for eco logical culture change. We will discover there are other possibilities, choices and tools for taking care of human needs. We will touch on some historical precedents of culture change, human potential, where does it come from, voluntary simplicity, cohesion and faith communities.

Part Three - Thursday,Oct 4, 7 PM - Tools and Assets for Eco Logical Culture Change

We will start with a review of presentations one and two. Part three will focus on tools you can use with a look at real life examples of what people are doing for eco culture change as individuals and as communities. We will touch on Permaculture, property conversion, home economics, block planning and neighborhoods. We will have a look at stacking - the many benefits to be gained by thoughtfully redesigning the way we live. This presentation will be include many slides to show real life examples and projects.. In conclusion, putting in focus Global Trends- Local Choices
