Hi

These are fotos of 2011. From home, neighborhood, Eugene to out of town. Also several illustrations that go with a story I am writing, Windmill co-op, 2035.

Home. Back yard and main house. The place serves me well I grow almost all my fruit and veggies. Its aesthetically a joy to be here. Great to show and tell others and encourage them to do the same.

Vertical food production. The shed occupies what used to be the driveway. Note the grape trellis above the shed and the rebar that will support the pole bean tunnel

Backyard, new greenhouse, outdoor work space.

Inside the green house. Extends the growing season. Zora loves it.

Zora taking a break from her busy life.

Friend Sandra and I visit the Occupy Eugene site.

Making apple cider with Teresa, Than and Hans.

New plants from a plant sale.

Neighborhood Pancake Breakfast. River Road Community Organization.

I took CERT Training. Basics of Emergency reponse.

Nearby. Al's place, a mini eco village in the early stages. Projects attract attention, this a neighborhood potluck.

Jason explains the permaculture site plan for his nearby home. Love to see others transforming their properties.

Tour of Dharmalaya. Another nearby permaculture site. This a small straw bale cabin. Other sites nearby also seeing big changes.

COS Bike tour visits Heiko's front yard food forest. Another permaculture project nearby.

Visit to the coast. Hobbit Beach. Ravi and Michelle have created a number of learning projects at Dharmalaya. This is an outing for interns. Programs are all about practical and applied spirituality.

Committee on Sustainability, a neighborhood group I am involved with, outreach at the Green Home Show. We also organize green bike tours all over town.

Several illustrations from Windmill Co-op, 2035. Its a dystopian/utopian story set in my neighborhood 10 years into recovery. The USA no longer exists.

Suburbia without us. This illustration based on houses across the street from me. As described in my story.

Windmill Co-op. Huddle, a new social ritual, inside the Dome.

Kids visit the Garden Center. Green houses and bio gas.

Pals Paul, Fati and I attend the Rainbow Gathering. Fati is from Iran and loves cultural experiences. She is in black under the guitar player.

Main Meadow at the Rainbow Gathering.

Fati, Jan, Paul leaving the Gathering.

Fati rides a bike. In Iran, women do not ride bikes.

Visit to Portland. Place making site. Neighborhood pizza oven and cob bench for all to use. Creates interest and care for the neighborhood.

Shareit Square in Portland. All 4 corners of the intersection are "enhanced" - kid play space, cob bench, hot tea self serve, info kiosk. Very nice.

2011 Northwest Permaculture Convergence. A great event all about using permaculture for big changes to culture and economy.

Convergence, inside the Pavillion. A big circle before dinner. I was a core planner. A great experience to help plan and attend.

Show and tell with the posters I made at the Convergence.

Painted Hills, west of John Day, eastern Oregon.

Visit to Portland. Fosterville Co-op. Two properties share a garden and resources. Outreach into the neighborhood.

Olympia with friends. This site was a clutter filled city right of way. Now becoming park with edible landscaping. City, neighborhood, volunteers make it happen.

Olympia to Spokane with Mellissa. We meet a couple along the way. Mt Ranier in the back ground.

Making a presentation in Spokane - "Neighborhoods, Permaculture, Uplift and The Economy." It was a great evening.

Mid December. Visit to the Coast. This is Devil's Churn at Cape Perpetua, two hours from Eugene. I love the coast!

Posters I designed and had printed. They are full of info about transforming a property, front yard gardens and safer more secure neighborhoods. more info

Hope you enjoyed checking out the fotos. Would love to see yours!

Fascinating times. Onward thru the Fog.
